FFASA Newsletter
JULY 2006

Dear FFASA Supporter,

If you understand why high prosecutor turnover is detrimental to our system of criminal justice, it is time to "Talk the Talk, and Walk the Walk". Dozens of concerned citizens have already become Supporting Members and more than 400 subscribers across the state now receive this e-newsletter.

FFASA's message is simple and is spreading loud and clear -- high prosecutor turnover is an issue of public safety! As we continue to interact with the media, businesses, and other community organizations, our message will continue to spread through the state.

FFASA continues its success in securing the support of local and state-wide organizations. We welcome three new Supporting Organizations: the League of Prosecutors (LOP), the Florida Trial Court Staff Attorneys Association (FTCSAA), and the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for Broward County. FFASA also thanks the State Attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit, the Honorable Barry Krischer, for providing FFASA a copy of his personal PowerPoint presentation on prosecutor turnover.

FFASA is also grateful that State Representative Ari Porth accepted the invitation to become a Legislative Advisor for FFASA's Legislative Committee. Mr. Porth's input and participation will enhance the committee's effectiveness. Together, we'll formulate a strategy for success in Tallahassee!

Please join us in this unprecedented grassroots effort to make Florida safer. We cannot carry the torch without your support. Please spread the word to family, friends, and co-workers and encourage them to become members, sponsors, supporters, or to simply make a donation. If you are a member of a community organization, we would love to address your membership at your next meeting or function. Thank you for taking a stand and joining FFASA!

FFASA's Executive Committee unanimously voted on June 20, 2006, to recognize those individuals who have quickly responded to our call to action and for financial support. In appreciation of their support and contribution to public safety, we have created the designation of FFASA 100 for the first 100 individuals who become Supporting Members.

All of you who have already joined FFASA and paid the annual $50.00 Supporting Membership Fee will be included in this select group of individuals who truly "Talk the Talk and Walk the Walk". FFASA 100 members will receive a lapel pin and will be recognized in the printed programs for all FFASA events. Become a FFASA Supporting Member today and join this elite group of leading citizens!
