SEPTEMBER 2006

Dear FFASA Supporter,

Giving life to a grassroots organization is hard work. But when the cause you believe in is fair, just, and can positively affect the quality of live of every citizen in the State of Florida, it generates a passion that transcends obstacles. FFASA's success lies on its core message -- high prosecutor turnover is an issue of public safety. With that message in mind, FFASA's mission is twofold -- to create public awareness and to engage legislators in Tallahassee.

FFASA continues its efforts to keep the issue of prosecutor turnover in the front burner by engaging the media and we continue to reach out to business leaders and community organizations. FFASA proudly welcomes AutoNation Inc. as a Lifetime Donor and thanks the Kiwanis Club of Oakland Park/Coral Ridge for hosting a FFASA presentation in August.

FFASA is all about bringing organizations together in order to strengthen our message. The support of the Broward County Crime Commission and the League of Prosecutors are examples of this effort. On September 9, 2006, FFASA mailed to State Attorney Bruce Colton, President of the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association (FPAA), an invitation to support FFASA's efforts. We also sent invitations to each of the State Attorneys in Florida. Securing the support of the FPAA is a natural step for an organization that already counts with the membership and subscription of hundreds of prosecutors thought the state.

A link to a message from State Attorney Katherine Fernandez-Rundle, State Attorney for the 11th Judicial Circuit, is featured in this edition. Please note that the references mentioned in Ms. Fernandez- Rundle's message are articles that were the product of FFASA's efforts. The conversation we initiated is now taking a life of its own!

I personally thank the dozens of supporters who have taken the time to acknowledge our efforts. Your letters, e-mails, and financial support fuel our commitment. If you care about the safety of your family, your quality of life, and if you understand that a healthy criminal justice system is the foundation of public safety, I invite you to join FFASA today.
